About
Salamandre observée sur le domaine
Nestled in the heart of Quercy, a stone's throw from the medieval village of Lauzerte, this place is above all a story of connection: connection to the land, to the trees, to the stone and to long time.
The property spans several hectares of unspoiled nature, including private forest, centuries-old cedars, and historic buildings. Each space has been carefully designed to welcome, soothe, and offer a simple and authentic experience, far from the hustle and bustle.
La Salamandre takes its name from the salamanders that naturally inhabit the grounds. Discreet and protected, they symbolize unspoiled nature and a place where one takes the time to observe. The lizard is the emblem of Lauzerte. Here, the salamander is a wilder, more secretive variation.
Here, we have chosen to restore rather than transform, to value local materials — such as wood, stone and bricks from the property — and to let nature keep its place.
We welcome travelers seeking tranquility, understated beauty, and authentic moments: Couples, hikers, families or curious minds. Whether for one night or a longer stay, everyone is invited to breathe, relax and reconnect with what is essential.
